Tirta Empul Temple | UbudGuide

Tirta Empul Temple (Holy Spring Water), is the one of famous temple in Bali, and located in Tampak Siring, this temple already built in more than years ago, Tirta Empul Temple was built in 962 A.D. during the Warmadewa dynasty (from the 10th to 14th centuries), at a site where there was a large water spring in this temple, and beside of this Temple there is Modern Villa in the Hill, its built for our First President in Indonesia called Soekarno, in this Temple you can see many of holy water in the fountains, and all of the fountains has different function for our ceremony in Bali,


                                    

• Pool with 13 fountains, used as holy water for cremation or dead ceremony,
• Pool with 8 fountains, used as water for symbolic cleaning ( spiritual purification ), when a person is sick it is believed he is infected by immaterial dirt.
• Pool with 5 fountains for holy water used people from outside come to pray.

So that there are many Fountains in thi temple, you can also use this fountains just for washing your face, hand and the other,  So let the Holy water Bless you,
